Mistfall Hunter Underlord
Underlords are powerful monsters of the Corroded that occupy specific areas in Mistfall Hunter’s Chaos mode. The game’s in-match encyclopedia marks their territories as red zones on the map, and community documentation describes them as zone guardians with immense power whose defeat yields bonus rewards. In-game tasks also treat them as shared objectives — one of the documented match goals is simply “Defeat Underlord (Shared).”
Where to Find Underlords
Underlords are fought in Hallowgrove Chaos mode. The side task Where’s Stinky I has Drífa ask you to “kill Underlord(s) in Hallowgrove in Chaos mode” to clear the powerful monsters prowling around her home. In practice, that means looking for the red zones that mark Underlord territories on the minimap rather than hunting a single fixed spawn.
Underlord Mechanics
Based on the game’s in-match guide and community documentation, an Underlord fight follows a distinctive pattern:
- Territory markers — red zones on the map indicate where powerful underlords prowl.
- Barrier on combat start — when an Underlord enters combat, a barrier temporarily forms around the area to block other Gyldhunters from entering, shielding the fight from interruption. The barrier appears automatically when the monster enters combat.
- Timed challenge — fighting an Underlord triggers a timed challenge. If you complete it within the time limit, the group receives a bonus chest reward.
- Locked chests — some high-value chests in a zone are locked and require defeating the guardian monster to unlock.
How to Beat Underlords
Underlord-specific move-sets are not well documented by the community yet, so treat this as general mini-boss advice that applies to their fights:
- Clear the timer, not just the health bar. Because the fight is timed, bring enough damage to finish before the challenge expires — dragging the fight out costs you the bonus chest.
- Watch the barrier. The fight zone is sealed once combat starts, so be sure your squad is inside before the pull, or you may be locked out (or locked in).
- Treat it as a race. Underlord fights take time and make noise, which in a PvPvE extraction game can draw rival hunter teams. Decide whether you burst the boss quickly or post a guard at the entrance.
- Bring a squad. As with other Corroded elite encounters, a coordinated team clears the timed challenge far more reliably than a solo hunter.
- Plan the extraction after. Killing the Underlord is only half the run. Make sure you have a Soul of Return route before you commit to the fight.
Rewards
Defeating Underlords yields bonus rewards on top of their territory’s loot — most visibly the bonus chest from completing the timed challenge. They also count toward shared in-match objectives for groups running the documented mission goals.
Community Perspective
Reddit players describe the mid-tier PvE difficulty as “a perfect middle ground between soulslikes and easier action games,” with bosses tough enough to demand attention but manageable once a team learns the timings. Underlord fights fit that description: less imposing than a Mist Lord like General Harald, but with enough pressure — the timer, the sealed arena, and the shared map — to punish an unprepared group.
