Combat Bags in Mistfall Hunter

Combat Bags are preset loadouts in Mistfall Hunter. They are designed for players who want to jump into a run without manually assembling every piece of gear: using a Combat Bag automatically equips a free preset Loadout, which cannot be modified. Equipping or unequipping a Combat Bag before entering a map does not consume it — the bag is consumed once you enter the map.

Combat Bag tiers

Combat Bags come in four standard tiers, plus a “Custom” variant for saved personal loadouts. The four standard bags, from weakest to strongest, are Novice, Advanced, Pro, and Elite. A community database documents their rarities and gear values:

Combat BagRarityGear valueWhere it is allowed
NoviceCommon300Hallowgrove Normal, Brandrgarde Normal
AdvancedRare800Hallowgrove Normal & Chaos, Brandrgarde Normal
ProExcellent2,500Hallowgrove Normal & Chaos, Brandrgarde Normal
EliteEpic6,000Hallowgrove Chaos, Brandrgarde Normal & Cataclysm

These values come from community database documentation of the pre-launch build; the exact tuning was confirmed at the July 29, 2026 launch.

Which Combat Bags each map mode allows

Each map mode restricts which Combat Bags you can bring. The in-game map documentation lists the allowed bags per mode:

MapModeAllowed Combat Bags
HallowgroveNormalNovice, Advanced, Pro
HallowgroveChaosAdvanced, Pro, Elite
BrandrgardeNormalNovice, Advanced, Pro, Elite
BrandrgardeCataclysmData not yet published in-game

Because each mode also has entry requirements — Hallowgrove Normal asks for equipment quality Excellent or lower, Hallowgrove Chaos for equipment value 1,000 or higher, and Brandrgarde Normal for equipment value 300 or higher — the tier of bag you can carry is tied to how strong your setup already is.

How to get Combat Bags

There are several sources for Combat Bags:

  • The Pip’s Provision side quest hands new Gyldhunters a Combat Bag as newcomer supplies. Pip has prepared a fresh bag for fledgling hunters who return empty-handed, and the task is simply to claim it. See Pip’s Provision.
  • World loot and crafting. According to beta testers, Combat Bags can be found as loot in the world or crafted using resources from your camp.
  • Official mail gifts and events. At launch, players received Combat Bags in-game via mail — for example, Advanced and Pro Combat Bags — and official event notes mention Scavenger Squads dropping Novice, Pro, and Elite bags as daily rewards.

Why Combat Bags matter

In an extraction game, dying without extracting strips the gear you carried, so losing a hand-built loadout is expensive. Combat Bags give you a quick, replaceable starting kit for a run, and the entry requirements of the harder modes push you toward higher-tier bags — the same way they push you toward better equipment. Guides describe the system as a convenience layer: you save the full gear-and-gem configuration you want, equip it as a bag, and buy or rebuild it with one action when you lose it in the mist.
