Equipment Forging in Mistfall Hunter
Equipment forging is the crafting system in Mistfall Hunter. It is built around the Forge, a camp feature staffed by the blacksmith Dramm (called the Spirit Blacksmith in player guides). Where the extraction loop relies on random drops, forging is the game’s intended path to the gear you actually want — weapons, armor, and accessories crafted to order from materials you bring home from runs, paid for with Gyldenblod.

Unlocking the Forge
The Forge is unlocked through a side task called The Relit Forge. The quest text is straightforward: Dramm is ready to forge all kinds of equipment for you, and after you talk to him you have “unlocked the Forge feature.” The task is part of the same early quest chain as camp construction — the introductory quests Digging Deeper and The Eccentric Blacksmith feed into camp progression, and the blacksmith’s story is expanded in the The Eccentric Blacksmith quest, where Dramm’s obsession with the Bell of Return is investigated.
The blacksmith is one of the recurring camp residents. Local item lore also names Vronn as the legendary Master Smith who forged divine weapons — the Holy material Vronn’s Forging Hammer is described as a gift to him in gratitude for the weapons he forged. Dramm is the blacksmith who works for the player at the camp; Vronn is the master craftsman of the game’s lore.
How Forging Works
Systems guides describe forging as a materials-and-currency exchange at the camp:
- Crafting path. The Spirit Blacksmith’s forging system at the camp can unlock rare accessories and weapons, paid for with Gyldenblod and rare materials — a crafting route toward specific gear rather than waiting on drops, as the Mistfall Hunter Wiki’s weapons overview puts it.
- Synthesis recipes. The MistfallDB database catalogs “synthesis recipes” that combine materials and gold to forge each weapon, armor piece, and gem.
- Workshop gating. The Forge’s output is tied to the camp’s Workshop building. All Things How’s upgrade guide lists the Workshop’s Level 2 unlock as Excellent weapons and accessories at the Forge, faster forging for Excellent gear, and Tier 1 Gems. Game Rant’s camp guide likewise describes the Workshop as “the only route to better gear and rune sockets,” which is why it ranks high in upgrade priority lists.
So in practice, forging is gated in two steps: you must unlock the Forge itself through Dramm’s task, then upgrade the Workshop at camp to unlock higher-tier recipes and gem crafting.
Forging Materials
The ingredients for forging are forging materials — items whose descriptions read “can be used for equipment forging.” The wiki’s forging materials catalog lists roughly 40 of them across the rarity ladder:
- Common — Rusty Iron Ingot, Heavy Stone Block, Crude Runestone, Tattered Fabric, Waxwood Branch, Scrap Leather
- Excellent — Copper Ingot, Hard Leather, Improved Runestone, Coarse Wood
- Rare — Fine Wood, Fine Leather, Thick Wool Fabric, Thunder Ore, Fine Runestone, Meteoric Steel Ingot
- Epic — Mithril Ingot, Obsidian Ore, Runic Tanned Leather, Exquisite Silk
- Legendary — Adamantite Ingot, Arcane Dragon Leather, Thread of Fate, Supreme Runestone, Iridescent Crystal
Higher-rarity materials demand more dangerous content. The item catalog’s acquisition data shows that ingots and leathers are obtainable from the Auction House, Hallowgrove exploration, and Brandrgarde exploration, with the rarest grades coming from point-of-interest treasure chests in the higher-difficulty zones.
Forging vs. Drops
Player guides generally present forging as the reliable alternative to drop luck. Community farming guides recommend investing gold into materials and crafting components rather than repeatedly buying complete gear sets from other players, since self-crafted equipment lets you control preferred stats, socket layouts, and build specialization. The weapons overview at the Mistfall Hunter Wiki summarizes the mindset: “If a drop won’t come, the Spirit Blacksmith can forge rare weapons for Gyldenblod and materials.”
