Blackarrow Build
The Blackarrow is Mistfall Hunter’s precision ranged class, and its two arrow families lead to two very different builds. Archer’s Arrows favor fully drawn shots, burst damage, and mobility. Hunter’s Arrows apply status effects, traps, and damage over time. Both styles reward the same fundamentals — controlling sightlines, using terrain, and refusing to fight in close range — which is why guides consistently recommend the class to players who enjoy spacing and kiting rather than brawling.
Skill names below follow the class skill list; talent and affix recommendations are community-reported and labeled as such.
Archer’s Arrows Build (Burst and Precision)
The Archer branch centers on fully drawn shots and burst windows. Its strongest tools are:
- Sky Piercer — a fully drawn, straight-line arrow that pierces up to five units; the classic long-range finisher.
- Rapid Arrows — enters Volley mode, rapidly firing up to five arrows; shooting does not reduce Movement Speed, so it pairs well with aggressive repositioning.
- Lightning Arrow — chains lightning between nearby enemies, with the chain dealing reduced damage per jump.
- Concussive Arrow — a rune arrowhead that bursts into an air wave, inflicting Stagger, with a knockback added on fully drawn shots.
- Splatter Arrow — no cooldown and no Energy cost, ideal for weaving extra damage between other actions.
Guides describe this branch as the burst damage side of the class: when a Blackarrow holds open sightlines, fully drawn shots and the Sky Piercer/Rapid Arrows pair can delete targets before they reach melee distance. The same guides warn that panic shots and missed full draws waste the pressure windows the branch depends on.
Hunter’s Arrows Build (DoT, Traps, and Control)
The Hunter branch trades burst for sustained pressure and battlefield denial:
- Barbed Arrow — deals Physical Damage on hit and punishes enemies who Dodge shortly after being struck; hitting terrain creates a Barbed Trap that applies the same debuff to anyone who touches it.
- Paralysis Arrow — releases a medicinal mist that Exhausts enemies in the area.
- Spore Arrow — plants a mushroom Construct trap that deals continuous Physical Damage to enemies in range.
- Soundwave Arrow — makes enemies in the area Exposed for a period of time, setting up follow-up damage.
- Bloodfly Arrow — applies a lingering damage-over-time effect, part of which converts to True Damage.
This is the kit behind the “status warfare” style — whittling enemies down with bleed, exhaustion, and traps before they ever reach you. Guides rank this side of the class highly for solo play: one class tier-list guide calls the Blackarrow the best solo class thanks to ranged pressure, paralysis, barbed arrow, and strong punish tools.
Defensive and Mobility Toolkit
Both builds share the same escape and control options, and guides stress keeping at least one available at all times:
- Shadow Step — enter Stealth; when it ends, Charge Speed increases briefly, and the skill can be re-used to re-enter Stealth up to three activations. The main reset tool.
- Frostblight Bomb — thrown freeze grenade that Freezes enemies in range; strong for interrupting pushes.
- Impact Grenade — sticky explosive that detonates on a timer and knocks enemies back.
- Scattershot — fires seven arrows at once, knocking enemies back — a point-blank emergency tool.
- Predator’s Senses — reveals nearby enemy players with a scent trail; guides call it one of the best scouting tools in the game and recommend using it before committing to contested areas.
Community Consensus
- Launch tier lists vary on the Blackarrow’s exact tier — metamist rates it S in PvE and B in PvP, while the skycoach guide calls it the highest overall damage ceiling when charged shots land reliably — but nearly all sources agree it is a strong solo and trio pick with high skill expression.
- The class is weak when enemies close the distance and completely ineffective at close range, and several guides note that other classes can close the gap faster than new players expect. Fights are won by denying approach lanes, placing traps on escape routes, and re-positioning through Shadow Step rather than standing and trading.
- Trio compositions that run a Blackarrow commonly pair it with a Stardust Sorcerer and a support Seer as the ranged DPS slot.
