Mistfall Hunter Affixes Guide
Last updated: August 10, 2026
Affixes are the gem-socketed modifiers that customize your gear in Mistfall Hunter — slot a gem into a weapon, armor, or accessory socket and you gain one of the game’s 32 known affixes, such as Valor, Eloquence, or Stoic. Most gear pieces have sockets; a few items (certain helmets, for example) come with fixed affixes that cannot be changed. Choosing the right affixes for your class is the difference between a kit that melts bosses and one that falls over to the first Corroded pack.
What Are Affixes?
Affixes are named stat modifiers granted by socketed gems. Rather than a flat stat stick, each affix is a behavior with its own scaling (levels 1–7) and, at certain levels, an extra unlock — for example, Valor raises Attack on every level and adds Defense Penetration once it reaches level 5.
Key facts about how they work:
- Socketed via gems. Equipment with open sockets takes gems, and the gem’s affix is what powers the modifier. Our Equipment Forging guide covers where gems come from.
- Levels matter. Affixes scale through level 7, and several gain a bonus effect at level 5+ (Eloquence becomes uninterruptible, Stoic restores Health below 30%, Ranged extends effective range).
- Some affixes are fixed. Certain helmets carry a locked affix that sockets cannot change, so build around it rather than against it.
- The Auction House filters by them. Pip’s Auction House lets you filter listings by affix — the standard way to buy a piece with the exact affix your build wants (see Gearing Guide).
Full Affix List & Tier Overview
Community-maintained guides (metamist’s affix glossary, last updated mid-August 2026) compile the full roster. The tier list below is that community ranking; effects are summarized where documented, and left blank rather than guessed where the community glossary has not published them:

|---|---|---|
| SS | Valor | +Attack; adds Defense Penetration from level 5 |
| SS | Eloquence | +Chanting Speed; chanting becomes uninterruptible from level 5 |

| SS | Ranged | +Damage vs targets beyond 5 m; +Effective Range from level 5 |
| S | Unyielding | +Resistance for each different enemy that damages you (stacks) |
| S | Seamless | — |
| S | Resilience | — |
| S | Aegis | — |
| S | Seeker | — |
| A | Sky Piercer | +Damage for aerial casting; reduces Skill Energy Cost from level 5 |

Source note: affix names and tier grouping follow the community-maintained metamist affix glossary, cross-checked against GameRant’s independent S/D affix tier list (which grades each affix per class, e.g. Eloquence S for Sorcerer/Seer, Ranged S for Blackarrow) and the official in-game affix data behind our Affixes Database. Per-level values are published in the metamist glossary for every affix. We only summarize effects we could verify — nothing above is invented.
Best Per-Class Affix Priorities
A widely shared community build video (“All Classes Affix Guide,” June 2026) lays out the priority affixes for each class on purple-tier kits. These are community recommendations, not official tuning:
| Class | Priority affixes (community video) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Blackarrow | 3 Elusive + 5 Curse + 5 Valor + 5 Ages | Curse only pays off with debuff arrows (Bloodfly, Barbed) |
| Mercenary | 5 Stoic + 5 Ages | Trios: swap Fervor for 5 Unyielding |
| Seer (melee) | 5 Valor + 5 Ages + 5 Seamless | Trios: 5 Unyielding over Seeker |
| Seer (ranged) | 7 Eloquence + 3 Elusive + 5 Valor + 5 Ages | Legendary gear: add 5 Ranged + 5 Seeker |
| Shadowstrix | 5 Valor + 5 Fervor | Trios: Unyielding or Resilience for tankiness |
| Sorcerer | 7 Eloquence first | Stardust builds run Sky Piercer + Ranged; legendary adds Fervent/Stoic |
| Withered Knight | 5 Valor + 5 Seamless | Trios: Unyielding over Tenacious, Resilience over Vitality |
Two universal notes from the same source: Unyielding is excellent in trios and weak solo, and Resilience is a great all-round tank affix for trios (4 points recommended on any class). When in doubt, capping Valor or Ages is never wasted.
Victory Wine: Pre-Run Affix Buffs (Tavern)
Affixes also arrive from the camp Tavern, not just gear. GameRant’s Victory Wine guide (July 2026) documents the pre-run drink system: upgrade the Tavern camp building and you can brew Victory Wine consumables that grant temporary affix stacks before you drop into a run — a Monster-Hunter-style meal buff layered on top of your equipment affixes. The four tiers scale what you get:
| Wine tier | Affixes granted | Requires |
|---|---|---|
| Mortal Tonic | 2 affixes | Free to craft |
| Hero’s Ale | 4 affixes | Ingredients |
| War Blood | 5 affixes, stackable | Rarer ingredients |
| Gods Brew | 6 affixes, stackable | Epic-grade ingredients |
Because wine affixes stack with your socketed gear affixes, the Tavern effectively lets you run more of your priority affixes than your gear sockets alone would allow — one reason the community’s affix tier lists (GameRant’s S/D ranking, metamist’s glossary) agree closely on the same top names: Eloquence, Stoic, Ranged, Iron Helmet, and Seamless consistently rank at the top across both sources, while Valor and Fervid grade high for weapon-damage classes. Plan both halves of the stack — gear sockets and your Tavern brew — together when you set a build.
Affixes in Your Build Loop
Affixes in Your Build Loop
Affixes are the reason you filter the Auction House, hoard socketable gear, and pay attention to which gems drop: a legendary weapon with the wrong affix underperforms a purple with the right one. Plan your affix stack before you shop, keep gems for the sockets you intend to fill, and check our class hubs (Classes, Tier List) to see which playstyle each affix set serves. If you are going for a Hammer Build or any other archetype, start from the class priorities above and adapt.
FAQ
What is an affix in Mistfall Hunter? A named stat modifier granted by a socketed gem — e.g. Valor, Eloquence, Stoic, Ranged. Affixes scale from level 1 to 7 and some unlock a bonus effect at level 5+.
How many affixes are there? The community-maintained glossary lists 32 known affixes, ranked from SS tier (Valor, Eloquence, Stoic, Ranged) down through S, A, B, C, and low-tier utility affixes.
Can I change an affix once a gem is socketed? Some gear — certain helmets — has fixed affixes that cannot be changed. On socketed pieces, the affix follows the gem you slot, so re-gemming effectively swaps the affix.
Which affixes are best for me? It depends on class and role. The community per-class priorities above are the common starting point: Sorcerers want Eloquence first, melee classes build Valor/Ages, and trios favor Unyielding and Resilience.
Where do I get affix gems? Gems drop in expeditions, come from chests and unidentified items, and are sold on Pip’s Auction House — see our Equipment Forging and Best Farming Spots guides.
