Mistfall Hunter Change Class Guide
Last updated: August 10, 2026
Yes — you can change class in Mistfall Hunter. Once you finish the prologue and reach camp, talk to the NPC Dew and choose the switch-class option: the first switch is free, later switches cost Gyldenblod, and a short reversion window lets you change your mind without paying again. You are not locked into your character-creation choice, and you never need to delete a character to try a new class.
Can You Change Class in Mistfall Hunter?
Yes. Mistfall Hunter does not permanently bind you to the class you picked at character creation. Class switching unlocks after you complete the opening tutorial / prologue and reach the camp hub — which happens naturally on your first return from an expedition. Community guides (TheGamer, NerdsChalk, GameRant, GameTrek, all August 2026) agree on this point.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Can you change class? | Yes, after the prologue |
| Where? | Dew, in the main camp hub |
| First switch | Free |
| Later switches | Gyldenblod (see cost notes below) |
| New character needed? | No |
| Shared between classes? | Warehouse / stash is shared; each class levels separately |
How to Change Class (Step by Step)
- Finish the prologue and complete your first expedition — this unlocks the camp hub.
- Find Dew in camp. She is one of the first NPCs you meet after the tutorial and stands by the Gyldenblod Pool (also the NPC who guides you through early quests).
- Select the switch-class option in her dialogue. This opens the list of all six classes: Mercenary, Sorcerer, Blackarrow, Shadowstrix, Seer, and Withered Knight.
- Pick your new class and confirm. Your character switches immediately — you can test the new kit in the practice arena before your next run.
Cost, Cooldown & Reverting
- First switch: free. Every guide documents that your first class change costs nothing — it exists to let new players correct an early pick.
- Later switches cost Gyldenblod. Sources differ on the exact amount: NerdsChalk and GameTrek report a flat 200 Gyldenblod per switch, while GameRant reports the fee scales with your character’s level. Treat “hundreds of Gyldenblod” as the honest range until official values are published.
- Cooldown. After switching, a cooldown limits how often you can change again (community reports).
- Free reversion window. Right after switching there is a short window where you can revert to your previous class for free — no cooldown wait, but the Gyldenblod you paid is not refunded.
What Carries Over When You Switch?
- Warehouse / stash is shared across all characters and classes — your gear, materials, and money stay available.
- Level and progression are separate. Each character slot keeps its own level, talents, and quest progress. TheGamer notes every slot levels independently up to the game’s level cap of 12; GameTrek frames switching as keeping progression on the same character. If the exact behavior of the free-switch slot differs from a brand-new slot, community reports are split — verify in-game before assuming your level follows you.
- Builds and gear follow the class. Equipment is class-gated, so your new class needs its own weapons and armor (see our Class Hub and Builds for what each class runs).
Unlock More Character Slots: the Gyldenblod Pool
Prefer a dedicated character per class? Upgrade the Gyldenblod Pool — the circular pool in camp directly in front of Dew — to gain extra character slots:
- You start with 3 character slots.
- The pool can be upgraded to level 9; at pool levels 3–9 each level adds +1 character slot.
- That caps you at 10 character slots in total.
- Upgrading the pool past level 3 requires Epic construction materials, and higher levels need Legendary materials — the same materials other camp buildings compete for, so budget carefully (see our Camp Construction guide).
Each slot shares your warehouse but levels independently, so a slot per class is the clean way to main several classes without paying switch fees.
When Should You Switch?
- Early, if your starter class doesn’t click — the free first switch is exactly for this.
- To test a build before committing — switch, try the practice arena, revert free within the reversion window if it’s not for you.
- When your current class’s gear is hard to source — a class you have good items for beats a class you enjoy but cannot gear (see Gearing Guide).
- For the meta — community tier lists shift after patches; see Best Class and the Tier List for current community rankings before investing Gyldenblod.
FAQ
Can you change class in Mistfall Hunter? Yes. After finishing the prologue, talk to Dew in camp and pick the switch-class option. The first switch is free.
How much does it cost to change class? Community guides report 200 Gyldenblod per switch after the free first one (GameTrek, NerdsChalk), while GameRant reports a fee that scales with level. Expect a few hundred Gyldenblod — exact official values are not published.
Does changing class reset my progress? No character is deleted. Each character slot keeps its own level and progression; the warehouse is shared across all slots. Slots level independently up to the level cap of 12.

Can I change my appearance instead? Yes — the same Gyldenblod Pool lets you re-open the character editor and change your look for Gyldenblod, without touching your class or build.
