Mistfall Hunter Season Reset: What Resets and What Stays

Mistfall Hunter wipes seasonal progress at the end of each season, and the developers have confirmed the system without publishing a single reset date. The Season interface carries a visible “Season Reset” label, Developer Note #8 laid out the framework in August 2026, and the carry-over list still has gaps. Soul Coins and camp progression are the parts players most often ask about, and both survive a reset.

The short version, before the detail:

  • Resets: season level and Season Tasks progress, plus the season-scoped currencies tied to them
  • Stays: Soul Coins, camp construction and camp upgrades, and your character’s own progression
  • Cadence: seasons run roughly three months by the developers’ own description, not a published calendar
  • Next reset date: not announced, and Season 2 has no release date either

What have the developers actually said about resets?Permalink to this section

Three sources matter, and none of them gives a date. The first is the in-game Season screen, which shows a “Season Reset” label in the interface shown in Developer Update #7. That is the clearest confirmation that a wipe is coming, and it is visible to every player without reading a patch note.

The second is Developer Note #8, published on 20 August 2026, which describes the reset framework: which progression tracks are seasonal, which are permanent, and why the split exists. It stops short of a calendar, and it does not enumerate every item in the seasonal bucket.

The third is the season cadence. The developers have described a season as lasting roughly three months in press material, and Season 1, Soul Hunt, has been running since launch. That gives an expected window rather than a date, which is exactly how the roadmap treats it.

[!note] No reset date has been published. Season 2 is titled Fires of the Past and was teased on 5 August 2026 with a single line, “Fires of the Past await their rekindling.” The tease named a new Blackarrow weapon, the Javelin, and a seasonal progression track, and it gave no date.

What resets when a season ends?Permalink to this section

The seasonal bucket is built around the Season Tasks board and the track that feeds it. Season Tasks are capped at 152 per season, with rewards at fixed milestones: 50 completed tasks grant Pip’s Rare Pouch, and 93 grant the Legendary Nether Ferry skin. All of that progress is seasonal by definition.

The last four rows are the ones players care about most, and they are also the rows where the sourcing is thinner. Activision-style patch notes do not exist here; the seasonal currency split is documented by the community database rather than by an official table, so treat the Gyldenblod and Sigils lines as well-supported rather than publisher-confirmed.

What is solid is the camp. Your camp is account-level, not character-level, and it keeps its buildings and upgrades when you reroll or switch characters. That is stated in the new player guide and it is why camp investment is the safest long-term spend in the game.

Why the reset exists at allPermalink to this section

Mistfall Hunter is an extraction RPG, and extraction games have a specific problem: gear accumulates, the economy inflates, and the early-game tension disappears once every stash is full of high-tier loot. A seasonal wipe resets that tension without deleting the account.

The developers’ framing in Developer Note #8 is that seasonal progression is the competitive layer and permanent progression is the investment layer. Season ranks and task completion measure how much you played this season; camp, character and Soul Coins measure what you have built. Splitting the two lets a new player compete on the seasonal board without owning a maxed camp.

That also explains why the reset is not total. Deleting camps every three months would make construction pointless, and construction is one of the game’s main sinks for extracted loot.

When is the next reset?Permalink to this section

Unknown. Season 2 has a title and a weapon, and nothing else. The official roadmap lists it as a future season without a date, and the patch notes page tracks the live updates that have shipped since launch without ever mentioning a season end date.

Three signals let you estimate rather than predict:

  1. Season length: roughly three months by the developers’ description.
  2. Season 1 start: launch, which puts a first reset in the region of three months after release.
  3. Season 2 state: teased, not dated, and with no build on any public test branch.

[!warning] Do not spend Soul Coins on the assumption of a reset date. Nothing has been announced. The safe planning rule is to finish Season Tasks you can finish and to treat the season-end date as unknown until the in-game timer appears.

The in-game Season screen is the authoritative clock. When the developers schedule a reset, that screen is where the countdown will show first, ahead of any social post.

How should you prepare for a reset?Permalink to this section

The preparation list is short, and most of it is about not wasting the seasonal currencies you are about to lose.

  • Finish Season Tasks before the board closes. The 93-task milestone is the last reward tier, and unclaimed progress does not carry.
  • Spend Gyldenblod and Contract Sigils. They reset, so a balance held at season end is a balance deleted.
  • Bank Soul Coins instead of spending them. They are the one currency that survives, and they buy permanent account upgrades.
  • Push camp upgrades early. Camp progress is permanent, so every upgrade compounds across seasons.
  • Do not hoard seasonal gear you cannot use. Gear attached to a season’s progression track is worth checking against the carry-over list before the wipe.

The Path of Glory guide covers where the Season Reset label appears and how the seasonal track is structured, and the Soul Coins page explains why that currency is exempt.

What is still unconfirmedPermalink to this section

Several things that players ask about weekly have no official answer:

QuestionStatus
Exact reset date for Season 1Not announced
Whether seasonal gear carries overNot itemised
Whether Season Tasks rewards are re-obtainableNot stated
Season 2 release dateNot announced
Whether camp levels are capped per seasonNo cap mentioned

The pattern is consistent: the framework is public, the details are not. Any guide that gives you a countdown to the hour is guessing, and any list that claims to enumerate every reset item is inferring from the community database.

[!tip] Use the Season screen as your source of truth. It shows the current season, the Season Reset label and your task progress. If a countdown appears there, that is the schedule; if it does not, no schedule exists yet.

Frequently Asked QuestionsPermalink to this section

Does Mistfall Hunter reset your character?Permalink to this section

No. Character level, gear and camp progression are permanent. The reset applies to seasonal progression, including Season Tasks and the season’s own reward track.

Do Soul Coins reset in Mistfall Hunter?Permalink to this section

No. Soul Coins are the permanent currency and survive the seasonal wipe, which is why they are the recommended thing to bank before a reset.

When does Mistfall Hunter Season 1 end?Permalink to this section

No end date has been announced. The developers have described seasons as roughly three months long and have not published a calendar for the first reset.

Does the camp reset each season?Permalink to this section

No. Camp construction and upgrades are account-level and persist across characters and seasons, which makes them the safest long-term investment.
