Builds & Playstyle
The Handcrafted Longbow is the Blackarrow’s on-ramp — the first real bow after the starter gear, with no damage modifier to hide behind. That makes it a pure fundamentals weapon: your output comes entirely from full-draw timing, Archer’s Arrow placement, and the spacing discipline that defines the class. It also works with every arrow family, because a flat 20 Attack bow has no build preference.
- Where it sits: the bottom of the bow ladder (Combat Value 200). The Oil-soaked Wooden Bow (CV 300) is the direct upgrade.
- When to use it: your opening runs as a Blackarrow while you learn sightline control.
- When to swap: the moment a Rare or better bow drops, or as soon as you can afford one — the Handcrafted Longbow is a convenience weapon, not a keeper.
Community note: launch-window build guides (July 2026) treat the Common bow as the free stepping stone of the Blackarrow build and assume you replace it early; no tier list ranks individual bows, so this is a progression pick, not a meta pick. That is community opinion from the launch window, not official data.
