Builds & Playstyle
The Oil-soaked Wooden Bow is the Blackarrow’s first real upgrade — a Rare bow (23 Attack, Combat Value 300) that starts the class’s damage curve off the flat bottom of the ladder. Its name suggests a hard-worn field weapon, and it plays that way: no gimmicks, just a dependable step up that lets both arrow families hit their thresholds a little sooner. In the Hunter’s Arrow route it is especially welcome, since trap-and-debuff pressure is often decided by small damage advantages.
- Where it sits: one step up from the Handcrafted Longbow (CV 200), one step below the Yew Longbow (CV 400).
- When to use it: the leveling stretch, and any low-budget lobby where you do not want to risk a valuable bow on extraction.
- When to swap: when a Yew Longbow or better drops — the Rare tier is a bridge, not a destination.
Community note: the Blackarrow build guide references the Oil-soaked Wooden Bow as one of the class’s bow examples, and community tier lists (SkyCoach, July 2026) rank the class rather than individual bows — expect to outgrow this one before endgame. That is community guidance, not an official ranking.
