Mistfall Hunter Golden Woodling

[!note] Status: not live as of September 20, 2026. The Golden Woodling was announced in the August 5, 2026 Season 1 roadmap as an upcoming monster, arriving alongside “an all-new season-exclusive progression system.” It has not appeared in any patch note or live update since, and no release date, location, health, or drop table has been published. Everything below is either the official wording or explicitly labelled as unpublished.

Quick answer: The Golden Woodling is an announced Mistfall Hunter monster — officially described as “a rare Woodling disguised as precious treasure, its golden radiance as mysterious as it is deadly” — that was promised together with a new season-exclusive progression system in the Season 1 roadmap. As of September 20, 2026 it is not in the game: no date, no map, no mechanics, and no rewards have been published. Do not confuse it with the Golden Woodling – Head cosmetic, which is a real, obtainable Gylden Rush cipher reward and a completely different thing.

What Is the Golden Woodling?Permalink to this section

The only official description is a single roadmap bullet from the August 5, 2026 post:

New Monster: Golden Woodling alongside an all-new season-exclusive progression system. A rare Woodling disguised as precious treasure, its golden radiance as mysterious as it is deadly. Official Season 1 roadmap post (August 5, 2026)

Three things can be read out of that sentence, and only three:

  • It is a monster, not a currency. The roadmap files it under “New Monster,” which makes it the first new creature named for Season 1 after launch.
  • It disguises itself as treasure. “A rare Woodling disguised as precious treasure” is a behavioural hint: it is expected to look like loot rather than to announce itself, which fits the game’s Woodling family — creatures already used as the world’s tricksters and merchants.
  • It ships with a progression system. The bullet ties the monster to “an all-new season-exclusive progression system,” so the content is not just a boss drop. Bellring has not described what that system tracks or what it pays out.

Golden Woodling the Monster vs “Golden Woodling – Head” the CosmeticPermalink to this section

This is the naming trap that makes Golden Woodling searches confusing, so separate the two before anything else:

Golden Woodling (monster)Golden Woodling – Head (cosmetic)
StatusAnnounced, not in the gameLive and obtainable
SourceAugust 5, 2026 Season 1 roadmapGylden Rush event cipher rewards
What it isA rare Woodling that disguises itself as treasure, plus a season progression systemA head cosmetic awarded through the Gylden Rush / cipher system
DetailsNo date, map, stats, or drops publishedDocumented odds on the Ciphers guide

If a page promises “Golden Woodling location” or “Golden Woodling drops” today, it is almost certainly describing the cosmetic or guessing about the monster. The cosmetic’s own drop odds are published — the Gylden Rush cipher reward table lists the Golden Woodling – Head at roughly a 1% roll — and that is a different system from the announced creature.

Who the Woodlings ArePermalink to this section

The Woodling family is already central to Mistfall Hunter, which is why a new one matters:

Sponsored
  • Hallowgrove Woodling — a Normal-tier creature that spawns in the Gyldenmist.
  • Returner Woodling — the rare bell-carrying creature whose Soul of Return drop is the extraction key every run depends on.
  • Richie the Merchant — the in-match Woodling trader added with Soul Harvest, where a single Soul Cocoon can be traded for a guaranteed payout.
  • Fern the Woodling — the Woodling named in the roadmap as the reward-giver for the Underlord Speed Challenge.

Monsters in this setting are not all hostile: the Woodlings are the game’s transactional tricksters. A “golden” one that disguises itself as treasure is consistent with that character, and it explains why the announcement pairs it with a progression system rather than a boss arena.

When Will the Golden Woodling Arrive?Permalink to this section

No date. It sits in the same announced backlog as the Ancestor Tree, the Underlord Speed Challenge, and the Blackarrow Javelin — all named in the Season 1 roadmap and none of them shipped as of September 20, 2026.

The pattern that matters when estimating: the roadmap item with the most specific timing, Brandrgarde Solo Mode, was announced for “the middle of Season 1 in September” and shipped on September 3, 2026. Everything else carries a vaguer label, and Bellring has never published a Season 1 end date. Track the patch notes — a monster cannot ship without one.

How to PreparePermalink to this section

There is nothing to farm for an unreleased creature, but the surrounding systems are already live and worth knowing:

  1. Learn the extraction monster. Every run depends on the Returner Woodling and its Soul of Return — the one Woodling every player already hunts.
  2. Understand the Gylden Rush cipher loop if you want the cosmetic of the same name; the reward odds and steps are on the Ciphers guide.
  3. Keep Hallowgrove fresh. Season 1’s remaining Woodling-related content has been announced around Hallowgrove — the Ancestor Tree is a Hallowgrove event and the Underlords it hosts are Hallowgrove Chaos mini-bosses. See the Hallowgrove map guide.
  4. Watch the seasonal progression angle. Because the monster is tied to a new progression system, seasonal tasks and camp progression pages are where the change will show up first — see Season Tasks and Camp Upgrades.

Frequently Asked QuestionsPermalink to this section

Is the Golden Woodling in Mistfall Hunter yet? No. It was announced on August 5, 2026 and had not shipped as of September 20, 2026. No patch note has referenced it since the roadmap.

When does the Golden Woodling release? No date has been published, and the roadmap gives no window beyond its Season 1 phase grouping.

What does the Golden Woodling drop? Unpublished. The announcement describes a monster tied to “an all-new season-exclusive progression system,” but no loot table, currency, or reward has been detailed.

Is the Golden Woodling Head the same thing? No. Golden Woodling – Head is a live cosmetic from the Gylden Rush cipher rewards, with published drop odds on the Ciphers guide. The Golden Woodling is the announced monster. Searching the phrase returns both, so check which one a page is describing.

Where does the Golden Woodling spawn? Unknown — no map or spawn detail has been published. The Woodling family appears across Hallowgrove and in camp, but the announcement does not place the Golden Woodling anywhere specific.

Will the Golden Woodling be part of Season 1 or Season 2? It is listed in the Season 1 roadmap block published on August 5, 2026. Because Season 1 has no published end date, that grouping is not a date.
